About the word WANT vrs. INSPIRATION

found this and I find it very helpful. It's by Dr. Symeon Rodger

"There's a pervasive myth out there in the Personal
Development world...

It's a very harmful myth...

And it's probably holding you back, even though it
claims to move you forward.

That myth is the idea that you need to focus on what
you WANT.

Funny, but almost everyone who tries this ends up feeling
STUCK. Why? Simple. Thinking about what you want
and don't have puts you in TENSION.

This gives rise to all your fears and doubts about your
ability to ever get what you want. It rekindles the
same psychological dynamic in you that leads to neurosis
and dissatisfaction.

If you think about it, everybody is ALREADY focusing on
what they want, and it doesn't take a genius to notice
that doesn't work too well ;-)

Yes, granted they usually focus on "wants" that are
too short term, but it's still "want-centered".

Instead, try focusing on what genuinely and deeply
INSPIRES YOU.

This is not just a semantic difference. Try it and
you'll confirm that for yourself. Don't take my word
for it.

People who follow the common advice of focusing on
wants start thinking about vacation homes and new
cars. And they're right back into the negative
psychological dynamic.

Focusing on true inspiration is different. Find that
within yourself and you'll feel so light you could
fly. You'll feel energized, optimistic and truly
happy.

If you look at nearly all great accomplishments, you'll
find they were brought about by INSPIRATION, not by
a feeling of LACK.

Give this a try and your life will
never be the same!

Dr. Symeon Rodger "
